# Directions:
01 - Set oven temperature to 400°F (200°C) prior to beginning preparation.
02 - Fit the unbaked pie crust into a 9-inch pie pan, shaping and crimping the edges according to preference.
03 - Pour 1 1/2 cups water directly into the pie crust.
04 - Mix granulated sugar and all-purpose flour in a mixing bowl until fully blended, then sprinkle the mixture evenly over the water.
05 - Drizzle vanilla extract over the surface and add a pinch of salt.
06 - Slice the unsalted butter into thin pats and evenly arrange them on top of the filling.
07 - Place pie on the lower rack of the oven and bake for 30 minutes at 400°F (200°C).
08 - Lower oven temperature to 375°F (190°C) and continue baking for an additional 20 minutes or until the crust is golden and filling is mostly set with a gentle jiggle at the center.
09 - Remove from oven, let cool completely to room temperature, then refrigerate for a minimum of 2 hours before slicing to achieve ideal texture.
